Use a hole punch to randomly punch holes on the
sides of your bags. Just a few on each side will do. If you have a hole punch in a pretty shape like stars or moons,
the shapes add a nice touch. These are available at craft stores. Fold over the top of the bag about 1" to
make it sturdy. Line up your bags and pour in sand or kitty litter so it's about 2" deep in the bottom of
the bag. This creates a base for your luminaria that will help prevent it from tipping over. Place a tealight in
the middle of the bag, set firmly into the sand or kitty litter. Place your finished luminaria outside 3 to 4 feet
apart, along a pathway or randomly in your yard and light the candles. The snow will provide charming reflection
of the candlelight and a safe base for your luminaria. Be careful to place your luminaria away from any buildings,
trees and shrubs.
